Charity Involvement at Evans Glass

Dear Community Partners,

On behalf of Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services' staff, board members, and clients served, we would like to thank you for your tremendous support this past holiday season. Our Holiday Programs met an ever growing need within our community. The contributions from your company were warmly welcomed and put to good use.

"Santa's Helpers" transformed a dark, cold, empty warehouse into a festive, warm and welcoming Children's Christmas Gift Center, overflowing with donated toys and stockings for our young neighbors. Our dedicated Volunteers had the pleasure of helping parents select gifts for each of their children from colorful displays of new treasures. Stuffed animals, Christmas stockings, and 4 + gifts each were chosen for 797 kids. Well over 100 more children were served this holiday than last.

Countless thankful comments, hugs and tears were shared with our staff and volunteers. Parents shared stories of "finding just the right gift" numerous times. Each donation we received made a difference in a young one's life.

Throughout the year, MVFB&ES seeks to serve individuals in need. Each week approximately 200 households, comprised of about 645 family members, access the food bank. In addition to providing nutritious food, we give financial assistance for utility shutoff and eviction notices, medical expenses, and other emergencies. Our agency serves Black Diamond, Covington, Hobart, Maple Valley, Ravensdale and within the boundaries of The Tahoma School District.
